Past Back to the Bible Promo: A Creative Review of the Book "How to Read the Bible For All Its Worth"

I still recall that when I was very much new to the faith, I spent a considerable amount of time listening to the radio programs of Back to the Bible Philippines.

On several occasions, I even requested for their bible study booklets and answered the workbooks with much enthusiasm.

Imagine my elation when finally, I've become one of their voice-over talents!

Here's one of the promos I did a couple of years back, wherein I played the role of a sarcastic game host who was sort of prejudiced towards one of the contestants named Tikboy.

Find out why in this promo for Booklat, a uniquely crafted show that reviews outstanding Christian books available in the market today.

Many thanks to my friend Jonini Anzures who wrote the script and even uploaded this particular promo to his website.

A Refreshing Morning Thanks to TIPCO and Find Your Wings Video By Worship Leader Mark Harris.

For me, there's nothing more refreshing than having a tall glass of veggie drink the moment I wake up.

                                  Tomato Juice by Tipco

I used to drink Berri's Tomato Juice but ever since I tasted the Tipco version, I've become hooked on the Thai brand's incredibly fresh concoction.

Adorned with sweet and salty goodness from freshly picked vine ripened tomatoes, I can't help but smile while having my morning fix.

What better way to continue the day than by listening to my favorite worship song entitled Find Your Wings by Mark Harris while drinking a glass of Tipco.

Oh, you've got to listen to the song.

It's so beautiful!!!!!

Find Your Wings
by Mark Harris

It's only for a moment you are mine to hold
The plans that heaven has for you
Will all too soon unfold
So many different prayers I'll pray
For all that you might do
But most of all I'll want to know
You're walking in the truth
And If I never told you
I want you to know
As I watch you grow

I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

May passion be the wind
That leads you through your days
And may conviction keep you strong
Guide you on your way
May there be many moments
That make your life so sweet
Oh, but more than memories

It's not living if you don't reach for the sky
I'll have tears as you take off
But I'll cheer as you fly

I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage
To dare to do great things
I'm here for you whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots
And help you find your wings

Let's dare to do great things for we serve a great God, right?

So You Opt For An Online Ticket at Universal Studios Singapore...

The title most certainly says it all.

You want your Universal Studios Singapore (USS) tickets right now so that you don't have to deal with the long queue come D-Day.

Or probably you've read complaints from tourists who weren't able to enter the theme park because tickets were already sold out that day.

Oh, I heard you just muttered, "Is that really possible?"

I know, it's inconceivable, right?

But according to certain fora, it really does.

Since we don't want to take any chances, we purchased our tickets from the Official Website of Universal Studios Singapore.

Screenshot from Universal Studios Singapore Website

The site is pretty much easy to navigate.

Just click on the TICKET tab and you'll be directed to this page.

Here, you'll get to choose which ticket type you want.

When you look closely, you'll understand that toddlers aged four year-olds and below are exempted from paying the entrance fee.

How great is that?

That means, we don't have to pay for Tutapel's pass just like what happened at Hong Kong Disneyland.

To find out whether your visit falls on a peak or non-peak season, simply click on the phrase "seasonal price chart" which is already highlighted in red for your convenience.

Once you've made your choice, you can start filling out the forms.

Get your passport number and credit card number ready to make your online purchase much faster.

After payment, you'll receive  your BOOKING CONFIRMATION plus a PRINT AT HOME TICKET just like this via email.

Make sure though that you print this as clear as possible for this will serve as your one and only pass to Universal Studios Singapore.

Remember to bring your credit card with you so that you can claim your FOOD/DRINKS VOUCHER worth SGD 10 or roughly around Php 340 at the theme park.

I'll let you know how our visit transpired in future posts.

Footnote: If you have the budget, you can also purchase an Express Pass for an additional SGD 30 or roughly around Php 1,300 so that you don't have to line up for any of the rides.

McDonald's Hong Kong's Healthy Edge Over McDo Philippines

At first glance, there's nothing really spectacular that distinguishes McDonald's Hong Kong from its Philippine counterpart.

McDonald's Hong Kong

It shares a similar bright yellow sign that makes you want to put both your hands over your head and with a cute tilt say "McDo-Love Ko 'To!"

Maybe, I'm just talking about me.

McDonald's Hong Kong

As I went down the stairs towards a nearby McDonald's in Tsim Sha Tsui, I already knew what I was going to order.

McDonald's Hong Kong

True enough, I ordered this Filet-O-Fish Meal for HKD 27 or Php 150 and shared it with Bala and Tutapel.

McDonald's Hong Kong
Oh yes.

I knew that the meal itself holds a big amount of fat and sodium that was why I decided to share the love and the calories with my boys.

McDonald's Hong Kong

You might be wondering how the Fish Fillet tasted like, right?

Compared to its Filipino variant, the HK version was less flavorful maybe because it didn't have that much grease and salt.

McDonald's Hong Kong

When I chewed on it some more, I really can't decipher that exotic spice that enveloped the fish fillet.

Needless to say, I found that odd taste present in two other fast food outlets, KFC and Popeyes.

Because of that indescribable taste alongside the blandess of the products, I dare say that the Filipino varieties taste so much better.

But I'm not sure if ours are a lot healthier though.

What made me say that?

You see, the great thing about McDonald's Hong Kong is that it offers a plethora of healthy drinks like Hi-Calcium Low Fat Milk and Soya Milk for just an additional HKD 4 or Php 22.

Not only that.

McDonald's Hong Kong also has an array of really fresh salads to choose from.

I also heard that in some branches, they offer grilled chicken burgers and soft-serve ice cream with healthy beans like azuki and mung bean.

How cool is that?

It was a shame though that it was only after we made our order when I discovered about these healthful alternatives.

I can only hope that this healthy edge that McDo HK has over us will soon end.

When will McDonald's Philippines ever spice up their menu with some healthy dishes especially now that many Filipinos have become more conscious about their health?

Fashion Bites: Plains & Prints Holiday 2011 Collection

Eleven years ago, Plains & Prints graciously sponsored my clothes for my early morning newscast on ABS-CBN.

Back then, they were just producing women's dress shirts.

But not just ordinary ones, mind you.

They had them in colors so luxuriously vibrant that they literally brightened up my mornings.

In fact, when Balitang K began an in-house audition for a new face, after Ms. Korina Sanchez left the show, I got a gray cheomsam-inspired dress shirt from Plains & Prints for the audition.

But of course, you know the rest of the story.

None of the auditionees passed for the producers later on got Ms. Kris Aquino to host the new reformatted spin-off, Balitang Kris.

Imagine my surprise when Plains & Prints totally revamped their collection and added several lines of elegant items with the launch of Ms. Gretchen Baretto as image model, a few years after my newscast folded up.

I remembered saying, "sayang naman!"

My fave Plains & Prints navy blue dress
paired with a Korean-inspired lace jacket by Tweed

But I still frequented the store even without the freebies for I've become a fan of their designs.

For instance, when I saw and later tried on this navy blue cotton shirred dress, I instantly knew that it would become one of my favorites.

The comfort level is amazing and I think that the shirred cut is really flattering to those with hour-glass figures like me.

I have another dress of the same color which I equally love for it reminded me of what Song Hye Kyo wore as Han Jeun or Jessie in the 2004 Korean Drama Full House.

Remember when Rain dolled her up for the press conference to introduce her as his girl?

SHK was wearing a yellow dress in that scene and thanks to Plain & Prints, I was able to find a replica in my favorite navy blue color.

Anyway, I also have a black knitted blouse which I used in one of my blog posts.

Again, the comfort level is really good and the design--a simple classic.

Late last month, Plains & Prints unveiled their Holiday 2011 Collection.
