MTR HK Disneyland Resort Line (Mickey Mouse Train)

I must admit that although the theme park itself is pretty amazing, the Disney magic as they call it, won't be complete without riding the one-of-a-kind Mickey Train!

Sleek, modern trains in a wash of rainbow colors complement whimsical Mickey Mouse-shaped windows laced in red, gold ribbons and glimmering pixie dust.  It provides a wonderful peek of two enchanting destinations ahead--the futuristic Sunny Bay Station and the Victorian-themed Disneyland Resort Station.

Like a little girl, I felt giddy with excitement just looking at the ceilings reminiscent of star-filled skies!

All the delightful intricacies around me,  including these Mickey-inspired handles, made me realize why the magic of Disney continues to this day. Suddenly, I recalled the book Bala bought years ago which chronicled the lives of  Disney creators, Walt and his brother Roy.

It described in detail how different the two brothers were in every sense of the word.  Walt was creative and bursting with innovative ideas while Roy was more of a financial guru, making sure that Walt did not overspend in his "vision."  I loved reading the book because their conflicting personalities reminded me so much of  Bala and moi.

No worries for would-be passengers. The Mickey train is right in front of Hong Kong Disneyland.

From Tsing Yi Station, the journey will be 9.5 minutes for a fare of HK$12.6 using the Octopus card. From Kowloon Station, it will take you around 20.5 minutes for a fare of HK$18.1. Travel time from Hong Kong Station will be 23.5 minutes for a fare of about HK$23.1.

Make sure to hop in soon!
