Wild For Wildflour Cafe + Bakery @ The Fort

The intersection of 26th Street and 5th Avenue at the Fort is no stranger to locals and foreigners craving for an elegant yet casual dining experience. Here in this food strip, Wildflour Cafe + Bakery reigns supreme with its exquisite breads and rave-worthy western cuisine.

Diners have been raving about Wildflour's great food, terrific service and cozy ambience for sometime now, and we can't help but concur. The complimentary freshly baked bread to an array of refreshing drinks and satisfying desserts are a testament to the cafe's dedication to please its customers' ever discriminating taste.

Lamb Meatballs. Php 330

Offered as an appetizer, this classic Moroccan dish sizzles with energy, thanks to classic ingredients such as spiced greek yogurt called labneh, tomatoes, almonds and mint.

Crispy Duck Confit. Php 590

For this french dish, Wildflour chose cured duck's leg and cooked it in its own fat maybe even with some port (Portuguese wine) resulting in a deeply flavorful piece of meat, beautifully balanced by some boiled lentils and apple julienne in classic french remoulade sauce.

Rustichella Squid Ink Spaghetti. Php 450

Even in the absence of the popular squid ink pasta, the dish still managed to impress with its deeply flavorful and immensely delish symphony of chorizo pamplona, prawns and pistachio. Seasoned just right for the palate as evidenced in our failure to drizzle some lemon; but when we actually did, the result was an even lighter and fresher version that is both appealing and satiating at the same time.

Bucatini all' Amatriciana. Php 390

Wildflour recreates this classic dish from the town of Amatrice in Rome with trademark ingredients such as tomato, chili and cheese with the guanciale (cured pork cheeks) at the heart of it all. Instead of pecorino romano, Wildflour used freshly grated parmesan which may seem unorthodox to purists; but, still vibrates with sharp intensity. The richness of the guanciale in some inexplicable way blends well with the tomatoes' tangy nature; and, with a bit of zing from the chili, Wildflour's version is truly an homage to Roman cooking at its best.

Valrhona Chocolate Pot de Creme. Php 205 (Above)
Peanut Butter Banana Cream Pie. Php 190 (Below)

The bittersweet Valrhona dessert blends well with the pie's rich and creamy nature. The unlikely combo provides a great finish to an already fantastic meal.
