CAMAY Soap Is Back In The Philippines!

It didn't really matter that we still have quite a steady supply of soap bars in the bathroom cabinet. Somehow all logic left me when I saw the new line of CAMAY SOAPS AND SHOWER GELS in the supermarket shelves yesterday! :)

You see, CAMAY and I share a lot of history together. It was my favorite soap when I was a little girl because it was my mom and grandma's favorite too! Back in the 70s, the decade I was born into, CAMAY was a really prestigious soap; at least it was marketed that way and the public fought hard to get their hands on these coveted soap bars.

If it was big in the 70s, you can just imagine how phenomenal CAMAY was when it was first distributed in the Philippines in the 1950s! I've even learned from someone that CAMAY was not only popular in the Philippines but also in Post-World War II Korea. During that time, Korea was extremely poor and the Philippines sent rice, Camay soap, among others, to help Koreans recover from the devastation of war. Amazing, isn't it?

CAMAY Soap by Proctor & Gamble Philippines

Despite its phenomenal rise in the Philippines, CAMAY experienced heavy competition from other soap manufacturers in the succeeding years which later on forced Proctor & Gamble to discontinue its distribution here in the country. But you really can't put a good soap down, right? For when CAMAY was distributed in Europe, it became a sensation!

If my memory serves me right, CAMAY was re-introduced in a big way with Ms. Cindy Kurleto as its new image model several years ago. Now, CAMAY is back not only with a wonderful line of new soap scents but shower gels as well.:)

Out of loyalty and sheer curiosity, I bought two soaps: CAMAY Creme Vanilla (Light Pink), CAMAY Romantique Rose (Dark Pink) and CAMAY Dynamique Grapefruit Shower Gel.

As expected, the scents are all so wonderful and utterly delightful!:) The soaps have that moisturizing effect all throughout use, maybe not as creamy as Dove, but for just Php 23 for an 80 gram bar, CAMAY SOAPS are a steal!

Since I'm a great fan of grapefruit scents, it's only natural for me to love CAMAY's Dynamique Grapefruit Shower Gel. However, if its moisturizing ability is further improved and its scent more  long lasting, then it would have been really perfect.

CAMAY Creme Vanilla (Light Pink) [around Php 23]
CAMAY Romantique Rose (Dark Pink) [around 23]
CAMAY Dynamique Grapefruit Shower Gel [around Php 70]

CAMAY SOAPS AND SHOWER GELS come in three adorable scents: Creme Vanilla, Romantique Rose and Dynamique Grapefruit. Catch them at your favorite beauty bars and supermarkets nationwide.
