What I Think of Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Permanent Hair Color?♪♪♪

As much as I love the silky smooth feel and the intense hue of  Monea Tints Cellophane Treatment, I'm simply tired of the wash-outs way into the 3rd week after coloring. Just imagine the overwhelming wash-outs I'm confronted with in every rinse! To solve this annoying problem, I decided to color my hair once again this time with Garnier Nutrisse Cream.

Garnier Nutrisse Nourishing Permanent Hair Color
Package Contents:
BOTTLE A: APPLICATOR BOTTLE
TUBE B: NOURISHING PERMANENT HAIR COLOR
GREEN CONTAINER: CONDITIONER BOTTLE
MANUAL AND GLOVES

As I've already mentioned in my previous posts, I've been coloring my hair for over 10 years now. When I was still new to this beauty ritual, I normally did a patch test by mixing a small amount of dye and cream developer, applied the solution on the inside of the elbow and left it for 48 hours. If I didn't develop any rashes or anything of that kind, I proceeded to coloring.

Here's How To Prepare The Color: (Lifted from the instruction manual)

1. Put on the gloves provided. Unscrew the cap from the applicator.

2. Pierce the Nourishing Permanent Hair Color Tube with the point of the cap.Squeeze the entire contents into the applicator bottle.

3.  Finally screw on the cap of the applicator bottle and shake thoroughly to achieve an even mixture.

4.  Immediately after shaking, snap off the self-breakable seal and use immediately. Proceed immediately with the application.

Here's How to Apply the Mixture:

1. Put on the gloves and apply the Nutrisse Cream either by using the applicator bottle or from another container of your choice, say an old ice cream container. :)

2. Part the hair in 4 equal sections and use a clip to keep them in place. Use a coloring brush to apply the solution in 1/8 inch partings. Comb through the hair to make sure the mixture saturates the hair entirely.

3. If it is your first time coloring your hair, leave the hair solution for 25 minutes. For resistant gray hair, leave on for additional 5 minutes. For touch-ups, leave the mixture on for 20 minutes. And if you have stubborn gray hair, add another 5 minutes.

4. After the waiting period, rinse hair with warm water until the water runs clear. Don't forget to apply the conditioner and leave it on for 2 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

After coloring:
This is how my hair looks like after using Garnier's Frapuccino shade. It gives off a somewhat medium brownish hue with reddish undertones partly due to my previous color base: a mixture of Revlon Luminista in Burgundy Brown and Monea Tints Cellophane Treatment in Burgundy.

I love the fact that the new Garnier formulation has a silkier finish and almost tangle-free effect even before applying the conditioner. And the best thing is, there's almost no color wash-out on the first rinse! But what is not that impressive if you ask me, is the fact that Garnier's resulting color is not that apparent compared to the Revlon Luminista series.  Well, maybe, I need to try a lighter shade the next time around to find out if my impression is well-grounded or not.

Anyway, two weeks later, the copper hue began to be more noticeable which made me a little bit more satisfied with the product. :)

Captivated by the Spectacular Ayala Triangle Gardens Lights & Sounds Show At Christmastime (With Video)

Two nights ago, we've finally managed to catch not just one but three spectacular offerings of the Ayala Triangle Gardens Lights and Sounds Show.

Spectacular Ayala Triangle Gardens Lights & Sounds Show

However, when we first arrived, there were no dancing lights at all which made us wonder whether we missed the show again. You see, we were in Makati almost two weeks ago and failed to see the program because we arrived late.

Spectacular Ayala Triangle Gardens Lights & Sounds Show

We only waited for around fifteen minutes before the whole Ayala Triangle Garden was enveloped by a thousand Christmas lights dancing mischievously to a variety of classical, contemporary and Filipino tunes.

The whole place was transformed into a magical place and brought together everyone regardless of age, gender, and social status at least for those few precious moments.

A kaleidoscope of lovely hues in blues, reds, pinks, golds and silvers, embraced us while their partner tunes serenaded us for the next few minutes. Huge silver ornaments provided texture and presence to the already lovely trees.

Spectators like Tutapel, Bala and myself can't help but snap photos all throughout the show. Conscious of the fact that the lights will be turned off at certain times, we struck several poses while donning these cute Old Navy Holiday Headbands from U&M.:)

MOA Eye: A Must-Go or A Must-Ditch?

For me, MOA-Eye is more than just a ferris wheel but rather a wonderful landmark that can rival the mighty Singapore Flyer and the ultra-chic Taipei Eye. Well, at least that's what I've been trying to tell myself for sometime now.

MOA- Eye

Let's forget the fact that our very own MOA-Eye is just a replica of these two mighty contraptions. Rephrasing lines from my favorite movie The Lake House, "You know as well as I do that the light in Singapore is quite different with the light in Taiwan, and the light in Taiwan is different with that in Manila."

MOA- Eye
And if only for this reason, everyone should go to the MOA-Eye just to behold that wonderful light! So, it's definitely a MUST-GO!

MOA-Eye might not have the elegance and ingenuity of the Singapore Flyer nor the Taipei Eye, but what it has is that beautiful, glorious light set across Manila Bay! What's even better is beholding sunsets from inside one of the gondolas...

Continuing with a quote from The Lake House, "A truly great structure, one that is meant to stand the test of time never disregards its environment. A serious architect takes that into account. He knows that if he wants presence, he must consult with nature. He must be captivated by the light. Always the light."

At least, the brains behind the MOA-Eye knew exactly what he was doing in terms of where to put this particular contraption.

The marvelous light across MOA- Eye

I followed my own advice and dragged my boys to the MOA Eye a half hour or so Before Sunset (woooah, my favorite movie again!) :)

Almost Sunset @ MOA- Eye: Truly sensational!

We chatted our way through the ride, well at least, while I wasn't busy snapping photos.:)  But that's what any respectable blogger would have done given the situation...:):):)

Spotted: Mr. Noel Cabangon @ the Meet & Greet (with Videos)

You can just imagine how elated we were during Noel Cabangon's Album Tour & Meet 'n' Greet. I, for one, can't get enough from testing out my camera's settings to make sure that glitches are at a bare minimum during my most anticipated event.

Meet & Greet with Mr. Noel Cabangon at SM Supermalls

As one of the most respected musicians in the country, it is expected that this minstrel has a gorgeous muse to boot. In Mr. Cabangon's case, it has to be this beautiful guitar, well at least for the event. For I've heard that his one true love is really a Taylor guitar. :)

An hour before the event, my nephew and I arrived at the venue. There were other fans who were there much earlier; but, they chose the seats at the middle for some reason. We, on the other hand, wanted to see and listen to Noel Cabangon up close that was why we opted for the seats closest to the stage. :)

When NC finally went onstage, he was all smiles amid several camera flashes and those adorable screams from his fans.

Allow me to share with you an array of Noel Cabangon's photos to give you a glimpse of that whole spectrum of emotions conveyed in his beautiful songs that day.

But of course, nothing beats moving pictures, right? And for this very reason, I took it upon myself to record his performances on video despite my arms crying out from sheer exhaustion.:)

I managed to catch Noel Cabangon's adorable entrance right here plus the performance of his first song, a Ryan Cayabyab original, and my personal favorite at that, Tuwing Umuulan at Kapiling Ka.

Please hit the HD button for better picture quality. Unfortunately though the audio quality is not that good because I was too close to the speakers to begin with. :(

That didn't stop me from recording another take from my handy cam, which turned out to be my last, before it got low bat. :(  Talk about bad timing, considering that the song on cue was another huge favorite of mine- Rey Valera's Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko- lifted from Noel's first mainstream album, Byahe.

Thank goodness, I was still able to catch the second part of Kahit Maputi na Ang Buhok Ko using my digicam. :)

My nephew Chix and I were all smiles when Noel sang this Tito Sotto-Spanky Rigor-Joey de Leon composition, Ikaw Lang Ang Aking Mahal. The song's innate 70s charm  was given a rather retro-folksy makeover under Cabangon's creative mind.

After the hour-long show, we all lined-up for the Meet & Greet with Mr. Noel Cabangon! I've been hearing several good stories about the man, fan comments like how level-headed, humble and down-to-earth he really is. Meeting him for those few precious moments validated all those wonderful stories and further cemented my admiration for him as a musician.

That's my name! How cool is that?

Our photo op with the Philippine's pride-Mr Noel Cabangon which pretty much sealed the deal for me and my nephew. :)

It turned out that Tutapel won't leave the venue without a photo from his favorite singer, too! :)
