Multiple Musings: My Sephora Starhill in Kuala Lumpur Haul, Raves About Soap and Glory, Benefit's Bella Bamba & The New Benefit Cosmetics Boutique at Greenbelt 5!

During our stay in Kuala Lumpur from December 1 to 3, 2011, visiting Sephora was at the top of my to-do list. Since our hotel was just a stone's throw away from Starhill Gallery, I never had problems finding it.

We were on our way to Sephora when I got distracted by an unlikely commotion along Bintang Walk.

I didn't know why but my reporter instinct kicked in and I started snapping photos at the cause of it all--a dignified couple walking in between uniformed bodyguards and a throng of photographers and videographers recording their every movement. Okay, after all this, I asked Bala, "do you know who they are?" To which he shook his head and said, "how would I?"

It's funny, because until now, I don't have a clue who they actually were. Maybe you can help me figure things out...

Anyway, after the whole entourage went to Julio Iglesias's concert that night which was just beside Sephora, I was free to capture a snapshot at Sephora's grandiose and uber impressive architecture.

I've learned from Nava-K that the Sephora Design Team in France was actually behind Starhill's inception to make Sephora's flagship branch in Malaysia a beauty authority in terms of an unparalleled range of products and high standard of service.

Upon entering, my eyes glazed over the Urban Decay counter in anticipation for the original Naked Palette. Sadly, there wasn't any that day that's why with a heavy heart, I searched for other possible replacements. After finding one that is most similar to Naked Palette's shades, I put it inside the shopping bag and looked around the Benefit Counter.

I looked for the famed Bella Bamba blush and began applying it on my cheeks. Just a slight dusting and the effect is as good as they say it is. I actually thought it was matte because of the deep coverage. When I looked at my cheeks closely, there were tiny, infinitesimal sparkles lurking through the color. Six hours after I put it on, the blush was still there! It was definitely even better than the Kryolan blush that I had on and had a much deeper hue than the Majolica Majorca Cheek Customize in PK333.

Despite the fact that I really fell in love with Bella Bamba, I decided against buying it because of the price. Great thing is, I just learned from Nikki of Ask Me Whats that the first Benefit Cosmetics Boutique will open on December 15, 2011 at Greenbelt 5! That means I can purchase it once I run out of my present blushers. An even greater thing is that the SRP of Bella Bamba here in the Philippines is PHP 1,600 compared to its Malaysian SRP of RM 130 or roughly PHP 1800. Having to save two hundred pesos is not bad at all!

After an hour of shopping, I ended up with this haul. Honestly, I regretted over the fact that I just needed RM 99 more worth of products to get the Sephora bag!

But at least, I was able to purchase some highly recommended Soap & Glory products which I will tell you honestly--are the absolute best!!!
