After a super delightful time at Charlie Brown Cafe Singapore, we went back inside 313@Somerset Mall to buy some Kaya preserves from Ya Kun Kaya Toast.
As we strolled along Discovery Walk, I can't help but be captivated by two life-sized fiberglass baby elephants! Believe me when I say that both were even more gorgeous up close.
The multi-colored one is called Dada, The Surrealist Elephant. Sounds adorable, right? But more than that, Dada and the other 160 elephants in exhibition, not only in Orchard Road but also in Marina Bay, VivoCity, Singapore Zoo and Botanic Gardens, among others, will be auctioned off in separate locations from January 12 to 14, 2012.
Part of all proceeds will benefit various projects and organizations dedicated to the conservation of the Asian elephant. According to organizers, this unique Art Meets Business slash Charity Project "has contributed over 4 million euros ($5 million) to good use in projects varying from elephant hospitals and corridors to lobbying governments and research."
Good news for shoppers who want to be a part of this worthy cause! You are entitled to a Limited Edition 313/Elephant Parade Gift Box filled with Famous Amos Cookies until January 2, 2012.
But if you want to take home the elephants' miniature versions, I saw several ones being sold at the Museum Gift Shop run by Banyan Tree on the second floor of the National Museum of Singapore.

Have a wondrous day of elephantine proportions!
