I believe the first time I've heard the statement that the world is flat was during Grade 3 Science class. By then Ptolemy and his theory became an important part of my life as both regularly occurred in various types of exams not to mention during that much dreaded recitation time.
But now that statement is given new meaning thanks to Thomas Friedman's bestselling book The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the 21st Century.
As I've mentioned in my other post, "that as the world turns, with it, the global academic landscape changes. Now by the minute, Pinoy students find themselves in a critical dilemma. And they don't even know it. As they immerse themselves in the sweet things in life, quite similar to what their American counterparts are involved in--fashion, beauty, movies and gadgets- their Chinese and Indian counterparts are doing quite the opposite."
