Heroine Make BB Cream by Kiss Me (Japan)

Quite honestly, I did not plan on buying BB cream at Sasa (along Nathan Ave. in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong) that fateful day. However when I saw the affordable price tag, I can't seem to put the item down. Why was I so taken with BB cream anyway?

Well, Blemish Balm or Blemish Base (BB Cream) was first formulated in Germany to aid post-operative patients to soothe scars and blemishes while inducing skin renewal. When Korean stars heard of this amazing technology, they started using BB cream as a make-up base with or without foundation. Now cosmetic giants like Etude, Laneige, The Face Shop, Skin Food and Missha offer different kinds of BB cream to suit your individual tastes and needs. Other Asian countries followed suit and started producing their own kind of BB cream. Kiss Me Japan is one of them with a brilliant marketing strategy: a 50-70% lower price range than its counterparts.

The light coverage makes you look like you're not wearing any make-up at all. Quick Tip: To know if the shade is perfect for you, it should disappear on the skin completely and not make you appear as the newest member of the Jabbawockeez. It should never be a tone or two tones lighter or darker than your natural skin  color. I believe that the simplest rule of wearing foundation can be applied in this scenario so I advocate what make-up artist Sonia Kashuk and former supermodel Cindy Crawford said in my favorite make-up book, Basic Face.

Just a pea-size on your fingertips, dabbed and blended well on your forehead, under eye circles, cheeks, chin and neck will go a long way. With just a light dusting of powder all over the face and neck using your favorite stippling brush or sponge makes you feel and look your best! What I absolutely love about this product is that a pea-size is all I need to make it stay on the skin without touch-ups. It also offers a medium to heavy coverage depending on how much is applied.  Wanna see the results?

Here's a snapshot with flash.

And without.

If you're planning a trip to Hong Kong and Macau soon, don't forget to grab a tube or two of  this brand of BB cream. You won't regret it. Heroine Make BB Cream by Kiss Me is available at all Sasa Outlet Stores in Hong Kong and Macau for HKD 69 or PhP 402.
