This chic and inviting pastel-colored store caused me to do a double take. Then it dawned on me that this same establishment once piqued my interest.
The delightful interiors ushered me to come inside and take a look. Its price range is almost the same with that of Red Mango and Golden Spoon. Question is how does it fair with the other two? Well, it has similar toppings and almost the same taste which made me really happy. The fact that it claims to be non-fat is a plus factor! Anyway, I ended up choosing these variants for my brood of three.
Californiaberry Special (PHP 120).
A medley of frozen yogurt and fresh mangoes, strawberries and kiwis. The tart trio: yogurt, kiwis and strawberries are balanced perfectly by the sweetness of the mango bits. The plethora of fresh ingredients certainly improved my mood that day. It truly is freshness personified!
Blueberry Morning (PHP 120).
Original frozen yogurt topped with blueberry, almond cluster and rice crisps. What can I say but just wonderful things about this variant. The nutty crunch from the cereals and crisps enhanced the sweet n' sour effect from the fusion of the yogurt and blueberries. A great choice indeed!
Rocky Road (PHP 120).
An interesting fusion of chocolate chips, almonds and marshmallows smothered on a cup of plain but creamy yogurt. If you're the type who craves for something baroque or over the top, then you might actually like it.
Blueberry Cheesecake (PHP 120).
The tart yogurt makes for an interesting structure for the blueberries and yummy cheesecake. Perfect combination!
My Own Creation: Original Fro-Yo with blueberries, cheesecake & almond clusters (PHP 125).
Creamy with a burst of sweetness from the lavish cheesecake and crunchy almond clusters.
What distinguishes California Berry from Red Mango or Golden Spoon is that CB's yogurt is much creamier and less tangy. If that description fits your taste plus the fact that it's low calorie then California Berry is most definitely for you.
